To support its growth and its international development, the Group is looking for an M&A Intern for a six-month internship starting in September 2020.

In 30 years the ORPEA Group has become a European leader in global Dependency care, with a geographical footprint in 16 countries and a turnover of €3.7bn in 2019, growing by 9%. The Group also operates in China and Latin America and continues its development on a fast growing business. The Group has built an offer of services focused on patients and residents’ well-being and strives to provide an exemplary quality of care in its 1,014 facilities over the world.

The "Transactions" department (reporting to the Group's Executive Management) is responsible for:

  • Ensuring a fluid coordination between Corporate Services (headquarter) and Business Units for development projects
  • Monitoring and coordinating the progress of development projects and, in particular, M&A projects (due diligence monitoring, valuation, work on business and financial aspects of legal documentation) directly or jointly with the Business Units
  • Managing the validation process of development projects (M&A, greenfield, extension/rehabilitation) through internal Investment Committees
  • Ensuring a good visibility on the Group's growth pipeline


Key responsibilities:

The M&A Intern will join the Group Transactions Department and will work on the following missions:

1) Preparing market studies about new countries or new business models by:

o   Providing inputs and presentations about competition and regulation from publicly available information and internal sources

o   Conducting researches about potential acquisition targets and creating profiles

2) Supporting development projects by:

o   Preparing notes, preliminary analyses and summaries of development projects memorandums

o   Participating to basic editing of Excel-based business plans

o   Working with the team on the preparation of Investment Committee presentations

o   Attending some Investment Committees and writing the minutes

o   Updating the database of development projects and establishing reporting if needed


Qualifications, experience and competencies required:

  • Top business or engineering school with strong academic performance
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel / PowerPoint)
  • First experience in a big consulting firm, private equity fund, Big four, or an investment bank preferred
  • Very good understanding of corporate finance
  • Fluent in French, English and another language (Spanish, Portuguese, German, Arabic, etc…)
